چکیده

A stable operation of wind turbines connected to the grid is an essential requirement ensure reliability and stability power system. To achieve such operational objective, installing static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) as a main compensation device guarantees voltage enhancement farm distribution network at different operating scenarios. STATCOM either supplies or absorbs reactive in order profile within standard-margins avoid turbine tripping, accordingly. This paper present new study that investigates most suitable-location install system maintain voltage-levels margins. For large-scale squirrel cage induction generator squirrel-cage (SCIG-based) system, impact installation was tested places The proposed method effectiveness enhancing balancing validated, results were repeated for scenarios expected contingencies. profile, flow, balance are observed using MATLAB/Simulink software.

Nonlinear Mppt Control of Squirrel Cage Induction Generator-wind Turbine

This paper presents a nonlinear control method to track the maximum power point of wind turbine equipped with Squirrel Cage Induction Generator (SCIG). Since the mechanical power of wind turbine is function of its shaft speed at a given wind velocity, the proposed controller provides the desired voltage at the output of Voltage Source Converter (VSC) so as to control the generator speed and the...

Rotor Fault Detection of wind turbine Squirrel cage Induction Generator using Teager-Kaiser Energy operator

This paper proposes the use of the Teager–Kaiser energy operator (TKEO) for the detection of a broken rotor bar (BRB) in a squirrel cage induction generator, which is used usually in wind energy systems. The TKEO is investigated using the non-stationary signals representation in the time/frequency domain by sensing the estimation of the instantaneous amplitudes and frequencies present on the st...

Improving Transient Stability in a Grid-Connected Squirrel-Cage Induction Generator Wind Turbine System Using a Fuzzy Logic Controller

A common problem in wind power plants involves fixed-speed wind turbines. In fact, being equipped with a squirrel-cage induction generator (SCIG), they tend to drain a relevant amount of reactive power from the grid, potentially causing voltage drops and possible voltage instability. To improve SCIG power quality and transient stability, this paper investigates a new control strategy for pitch ...
